About Tripperist

I like to take road trips — not the simple “get from here to there” kind, but the kind where you actually get out and see the sights and eat some darn good food along the way.

I also have a bad case of FOMO. Left unmanaged, it leads to a lot of detours I probably shouldn’t have taken — and, just as often, to driving right past a historical marker or a roadside oddity and wondering for the next fifty miles whether I should have stopped. Tripperist started as a way to manage that.

What it does

• Places finds the historical markers and points of interest within a 25-mile radius, sorted by distance, so you can decide what’s worth the stop.
• Maps puts all of it on a map with one-tap directions.
• Drive Mode speaks up as you approach something interesting, so you don’t have to look at your phone to know it’s there.
• Trips is a growing collection of curated road trips — Route 66, the Mississippi Delta, the Gulf Coast — built from actual trips already taken, so you can follow along or use them as a jumping-off point for your own.

Who’s building it

Tripperist is a personal, non-commercial hobby project — not a company, not a startup, just one person building the road-trip app they wanted to exist. It’s free, it’s actively worked on, and it grows one trip and one feature at a time.

Tripperist is a free Android app built for use on the road, and a web app for planning ahead on a bigger screen. Sign in once and the same places, trips, and favorites follow you to both.
